The photos posted in the museum’s courtyard are like telling stories about the journey of literary works which have become one of the prides of the people of Belitung.

This museum was founded by the novelist Laskar Pelangi, Andrea Hirata. 

To enter the museum, which was inaugurated in November 2012, visitors are not charged an entrance fee. The Andrea Hirata Kata Museum is the first and only literary museum in Indonesia.

A visit to this museum can make visitors know how literary works are an important part of life. From this museum, visitors can get inspiration to love literature more, both in Indonesia and abroad.

No one knows for sure why this beach is called the Golden Rat. Some stories say that around here there are many rat trails that are often used by illegal miners to distribute tin by sea.

Not a few also claim that this place was once inhabited by rats.

Pantai Penyusuk

Pantai Penyusuk is located in the northern part of Bangka Island, precisely in Belinyu City. This very beautiful beach boasts views of clear water and a stretch of large granite rocks on the shoreline.

If lucky, visitors can see and rent some fishing boats leaning on the beach. Visitors can go around seeing the beauty of the sea view by renting a fishing boat. Unlike the beach in the western part of Bangka Island which is directly opposite the Natuna Sea, this Penyesuk Beach is not directly facing the open sea.

Pantai Burung Mandi

Pantai Burung Mandi has been known by Europeans since the 17th century. In fact, from this beach, the Dutch and European companies carried out tin mining secretly around 1770-1780 – before finally claiming to have found tin on Belitung Island on June 28, 1851. Bathing Bird Beach.

This beach which has historical value is located in Manggar, Belitung. The Dutch used to know Burung Mandi Beach as Borom Mandi or Burum Mandi.

In the past, this area was a tin-producing area. In fact, the Dutch brought in the Chinese as workers. The existence of these workers from China can be seen from the Dewi Kwan Im Buddhist Temple which is located not far from this beach. Meanwhile, the Dutch heritage buildings are dams.

Rambak Beach

Rambak beach has sloppy beach with white sand beautiful panorama. The beach is span 3 km long and 20-30 m wide.

Along the sight, when we visiting Rambak beach, there will be palm plant background and natural river flow generally called as Heaven’s Beach and is the most visited beach in Bangka Regency.

Pantai Matras

Pantai Matras or Matras Beach is a beach located in the village of Sinar Baru, Sungailiat District, in the northeast of Bangka Island which has a distance of about 40 km from Pangkalpinang or 7 km from the city of Sungailiat.

This beach is very beautiful and gentle. Unlike most beaches, Matras have white sand coupled with a smooth texture. The length of this beach reaches 3 km and a width of 20 to 30 meters. This beach is the most visited beach in Bangka Belitung, both the Bangka community itself, domestic and foreign tourists.

Romodong Beach

Romodong Beach has a unique signature. It is called Ngelokan.

The locals gather in the seashore to collect big scallops or local called it as “Lokan”. These people have a unique way to catch those clam. They use a traditional tool that shape similar to a slingshot. It features an iron in its tip.
